Likes: Wolves, music, long walks on the beach no this isn’t a singles ad!, Takeru, friends, people who aren’t annoying, living alone, dogs, secret mythology nerd.
Dislikes: People who are annoying, anyone that isn’t a friend, school work, did I mention annoying people? Oh, I did?, hot food unless bored.
Fears: this isn’t fair who said I had fears? Being alone, losing close friends, becoming too famous to talk to the others.
Strengths: Friends, Takeru, Gabumon, music.

Personality: Yamato is pretty much the same as when he was fourteen—except a bit more mature unless Taichi is around. He’s still introverted and tends to keep to himself. He isn’t too big of a fan when all the Chosen gather around, but sticks it out anyway. Not that he dislikes them—he likes them, really!—he’s just not a big people person. Yamato has changed a bit over the years, though to his close friends, it honestly doesn’t seem like it. While he’s still very protective over Takeru, he’s become a bit lax when it comes to keeping a watchful eye on his brother. For this, he blames college and juggling his music career. Yes, Yamato is still in his band and hasn’t randomly decided he wants to go to Mars.

Background: Yamato and his brother were separated at a very young age when their parents saw it fit to have a divorce. After they split, Yamato had become much more aggressive and introverted than before. When he was dragged into the Digital World with the others, his need to protect Takeru grew even more. Throughout that adventure, Yamato grew and changed, much to the thanks of Gabumon. When he next was dragged into the Digital World, we see Yamato as a bit more open, friendlier person than before. He was also living in the moment, rather than keeping to the past as before. He accepted the new Chosen with the others and was helpful here and there with their mission.

He also began a relationship with Sora, which lasted for about a year and a half. After the events following 2002 they had become an item. Not long after that, Yamato and Sora, for the sake of their schooling, decided to put a hold on their relationship. At age 18, Yamato left his father’s home and has been renting an apartment on his own. He bikes to school, to the building he and the others in his band owns and home again. Gabumon is always with him, unless told to stay home on rainy days. Yamato’s band has grown considerably during these few years. While they aren’t the number one band in Japan, of course, they’re still well known, making it harder for Yamato to walk casually around Odaiba.
